Mersin International Children’s Festival Concluded with Enthusiasm

Colorful Celebration in Mersin
Büyükşehir Belediyesi organized the 2nd International Mersin Children’s Festival, which brought children from all over Turkey and various countries to Mersin to celebrate culture with colorful costumes and traditional dances. The festival, held in honor of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, concluded with a gala show at the Özgecan Aslan Peace Square.
The festival featured folk dance groups from various cities in Turkey such as Adıyaman, Konya, Edirne, Adana, and Ankara, as well as from Russia, North Cyprus Turkish Republic, Germany, North Macedonia, Kazakhstan, Albania, Georgia, Iran, Kosovo, and Poland. The intercultural atmosphere of the festival truly turned the children’s holiday into an international gathering.
The children presented shows in different districts throughout the festival. Bengi İspir Özdülger, the Coordinator of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs, expressed that they hosted hundreds of children from Turkey and 10 different countries during the festival. They were delighted with the rich program of the festival and expressed their happiness and pride.
Introducing Mersin to International Visitors
Özdülger mentioned that they introduced Mersin to children from different places during the festival and emphasized that the festival concluded with a gala show at the Özgecan Aslan Peace Square.
