Trabzon and Buhara were declared sister cities with a protocol signed by Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç and Buhara Governor Botir Zaripov. The protocol aims to enhance the relationship between the two cities and implement joint activities.

In his speech at the signing ceremony, Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç expressed his happiness to be in the ancestral lands and highlighted the historical and cultural value of Buhara. He emphasized the importance of strengthening brotherhood not only between cities but also at the country level.
